Bring your other mailboxes into Gmail
RapidMailSync fetches mail from POP3 and IMAP mailboxes and adds it to your Gmail account under a label you choose — a replacement for Gmail's discontinued "Check mail from other accounts".

DRAFT — pending legal review. RapidMailSync is in a private alpha: only invited accounts can sign in, and Google shows an "unverified app" warning during sign-in until the verification of the app is complete.
What it does
- Connects to a POP3 or IMAP mailbox you own, over TLS, using the credentials you provide.
- Adds each message to your Gmail account as an imported message, with the original date and headers, under a label you choose. Imported mail does not arrive in your inbox; it appears under that label. IMAP folders become labels under it.
- Keeps checking the mailbox on a schedule you choose (every 5 minutes to every hour) and imports what is new.
- Shows you, per mailbox, what was imported, skipped, too large or ambiguous, and lets you pause, resume, fix a password, or remove a mailbox at any time.
What it does not do
- It cannot read, search, modify, send or delete anything already in your Gmail. The Gmail permission it asks for is write-only: it can add messages and create labels, nothing else.
- It never stores your mail. Each message passes through the memory of one short-lived process and is discarded the moment Gmail has accepted it.
- It never deletes mail from the mailbox unless you switch that on yourself, per mailbox, after an explicit consent step. Deletion is only offered for POP3, only after Gmail has confirmed the import, and never during the first verification pass. IMAP mailboxes are always read-only.

Limits during the alpha
- Messages larger than 50 MB are not imported and are listed as "too large" so you can move them by hand.
- POP3 servers must support UIDL (almost all do); servers without it are refused at the connection test.
- Imports happen in chunks of a few minutes; a large backlog takes several rounds.
- If Gmail accepts a message but the confirmation is lost, the message is marked ambiguous and is not imported again until you approve a retry, which can create a duplicate.
- Threading with mail that is already in Gmail may not merge perfectly.
- A limited number of mailboxes per account; billing is not yet active.
How it works, briefly
- Sign in with your Google account (Google shows a standard sign-in screen).
- Connect Gmail: a second Google screen grants RapidMailSync the write-only Gmail permission.
- Add a mailbox: enter its address and password, and RapidMailSync finds the server itself (or enter host, port and TLS mode yourself), test the connection, then save. Passwords are encrypted before they are stored and can only be used by the component that performs the sync.
- Watch the dashboard. Delete your account whenever you like — everything except an anonymous deletion receipt is removed.
